VET DAY

When I decided to become a dog owner and was reseaching breeds, I narrowed it down to the Wheaton Terrier or the Portuguese Water Dog {both are non-shedding}. I chose the porty mainly because of the grooming {more for the terrier}. Well, today was vet day and the info I got from Dr. Richards made me happy with that choice. She tells me she sees a number of genetic medical issues in her wheaton terrier patients, particularly temperment and mid-life kidney problems. Therefore, I am grateful for the extensive genetic testing done on portys before a responsible breeder would allow breeding. This makes sure genetic diseases are not passed on. I have had that testing done and can confidently offer a 2 year health guarantee. Oh, by the way, all pups are deemed healthy, are now microchipped and vet endorsed.
